about

This is a concept album based on the curious events surrounding the formation and dissolution of the International Flying Saucer Bureau, and its enigmatic founder, Albert K. Bender. After developing an enthusiastic interest in UFOs during the peak of the flying saucer era in early 1950s USA, Bender founded the ISFB to conduct research into the subject. Yet despite the unexpected popularity of the group around the world, and continued strong sales of its publication, 'Space Review', Bender unexpectedly closed down the IFSB less than two years after its formation.

It later transpired that Bender was intimidated into discontinuing his research into UFOs by a group of clandestine entities dressed in black, with glowing 'light bulb' eyes. These shadowy men in black explained to Bender that aliens were already on Planet Earth, conducting important research into the mysteries of the universe in a secret base in Antarctica, and the IFSB's research was in danger of revealing their secrets to the world and jeopardising their work. Bender complied and left the world of the paranormal for ten years, before finally resurfacing to tell his side of the strange story in his book, 'The Flying Saucers and The Three Men'.
