During the process of making a back-up copy of my 2021 music projects hard drive, I discovered I had a few 'orphan' tracks floating about, without a home to call their own. These were either leftover or outtake tracks that did not make it onto their intended albums, or were stray tracks that were made on the fly, without any planned intention of including them on a specific project.

After some further rummaging through my archives I found a further clutch of unfinished tracks hiding in plain sight, but completely forgotten about, on my hard drive. Some of these were very near completion, while others only had the very bare bones in place - in some cases they were merely a sketch of an idea that I had quickly demoed, or even a group of chords played using a synth patch that I had just created.

I decided to finish off these tracks and compile them together with the orphan tracks to make a leftovers album. In total there was almost enough to fill up a double album, so I decided to record a few more new pieces to round the collection off. Even though 'In Search Of The Big Sleep' is essentially a compilation of unrelated tracks, it seems to hang together really well as an atmospheric, ambient electronica album in its own right. See each individual track for information on their origins, history, and the instruments used.
