about

This is an album of beat-orientated electronic music. Most, but not all of the tracks are uptempo. Many of the tracks are very minimalist in arrangement, and all the tracks are dark, moody, and atmospheric in nature.

The album is characterised by two very different sonic elements. The first is the heavy use of sampled drums, percussion and loops, made from samples of either real drums and percussion, vintage and modern drum machines, and by the use of everyday sounds as percussion instruments.

The second characteristic of the album comes from the use of a single digital synthesizer for all the non-percussion sounds: the Roland D-110 synthesizer. These sounds are further manipulated through the filters of a Korg MS20 mini, and through the use of various hardware and software FX units, including the Korg Toneworks AX300G guitar FX pedal, the Soundcraft EFX8 mixer, and various VST effects produced by Arturia, Korg, and Native Instruments.
